Thanks to Ashley (thehousewiferookie.blogspot.com) for the award. It's my first blog award, and I have NOTHING in my closet to wear to the ceremony!
On to the questions!
1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this? If you aren't anonymous, do you wish you started out anonymously, so that you could be anonymous now?
I don't blog anonymously... it wouldn't be too hard to figure out who we were, especially since there is a big picture of all seven of our rear ends as the blog backdrop. You recognize us by our butts, right?
2. Describe an incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
I have a great example of how my inner stubborn side was genetically passed on to my spawn and bit me and jr. in the butt. We 'require' our toddlers to ask to be excused from the table. Well, 'Jr." was about 19 months old, done with dinner, and was about to bail out of his/her chair (gender not disclosed to protect the guilty) and I reminded Jr. that they needed to ask 'please down' or whatever we were requiring a the moment. Jr refused. I reminded jr. that they would sit in the chair/highchair until they asked please to get down. Jr. refused. I went about cleaning up the kitchen and moved onto laundry and the other duties of the evening. Being the merciful mom, I continued to offer junior chances to dismount from the chair with their 'please down' plea. The kido dug in his/her heels. Now, I was going to win... I was going to be more stubborn... because I am more stubborn! Let's just say THREE HOURS later, junior finally gave up and said 'down please'... but this proves I'm more stubborn than him/her? Right? And that the poor kid inherited my stubborn side...!
4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Sugar water, heavy on the sugar, with a little tea mixed in....
5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Read, write, nap... vedge and play word games on the computer. I'm such a nerd.
6. Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?
There are lots of things I would love to do. I would like to finish and get my BS in nursing (one year, you'd think it wouldn't be that complicated!) I'd love to go on more mission trips- especially medical ones- and take the kids. I would love for my body to cooperate and run a 5K with my girls... I'd love to be a foster mom again... I'd love to adopt again... I'd love clean floors just once.... I'd really like my body back so I could do all these things! grr!3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
I try not to do this... it's depressing! I see a middle aged housewife... with wrinkles and grey hairs poking thru... and a body that doesn't work right... when did this all happen??? blech!
7. When you attended high school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person, or always ditching?
I think i was misunderstood. I was pretty shy and hard to get to know. Because I was quiet and drove a 'snob' car, I had a reputation for being snobby (or so i found out TEN YEARS LATER, thanks to a friend who finally told me the truth!) I was in the top 1% of my class but it really didn't take much effort- and i ditched class quite a bit... but not to do anything to get into trouble, just cause i hated school. I was an honor graduate, but failed two classes the second semester my senior year because I knew they didn't factor them into our GPA nor did they go on our college transcripts. HA!8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what would you see?
Just one? There's no way I could pick one moment... there have been too many amazing ones... life-altering ones... special ones... scary ones..... I'll throw you a bone, tho... the moment our Guatemalan child's birth mom put him into my arms, kissed him on the cheek and did the sign of the Cross over him... she gave me a child, I gave her a bracelet. I can still see her face....
9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog, or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people and events?
What you see is what you get. I'm a bit jaded and tired of people who aren't 'real' and pretend to be something they are not... so I try to be transparent. But at the same time I tend to be an island....
Depends on the mood, the person and the book. If the person is moody, I do not want to talk to them! :)
I'll tag my blogger award winners tomorrow... I've got to head to bed!!! Someones FIL is making me get up early in the morning! Ahem. :)
